Quilt-cation 2018

Not only will there be classes with techniques from beginner to intermediate…. there will be activities such as: 3D Christmas Ornament, Tea Cup Auction, Quilt Show featuring “your” quilts, Block Exchange, Quilt Raffle, Gift Basket Raffle and Pieceful Demonstrations of quilting techniques. There will be new friendships made and old friendships renewed.  Please join us!!

Sewing Tool Caddy –  Vicky Stowe Williams                                                                                       

Level:  Beginner

This tool caddy is easy to make.  It can be made of fabric scraps, one fabric or two or three.  Whatever you love for color or fabric your tool caddy will be an expression of you!

It holds alot!  This is what Vicky has in hers.  Sheers, rotary cutter, 2 small snips, 3 seam rippers, 6 1/2" square, 3 1/2" ruler, awl, flat bladed screwdrivier, spare needles, pins, 2 pens, sicky ruler tape, extra bobbins,pencil eraser,tweezers, 1/2" ruler, smooth corner and finger press, allen wrench, bind up ruler, small cutting mat and 2 sewing machine dust brushes!  Wow!  That's a lot!









Quilter's SOS -  Donna Hastings

Discover the possibilities for those unfinished projects, orphan blocks, partially finished block of the months, or quilt ideas that have come to a frustrating pause.  Quilting SOS will give you an opportunity to ask questions, investigate new ideas and find resources to get that problem quilt project finished.  Bring your problem projects.  Get some new inspirations to solve your UFOs!!



Activity – 3D Christmas Ornament 

Start out with two 6.5 x 5" scraps of fabric.  Turn it into these beautiful stars! Perfect for gift giving or decorating your tree! Won’t you join the fun?!?!

Six Hour Classes

Star Bright Churning -  Vicky Stowe Williams                

 Level: Beginner

Size: 64x80       (pattern also available in Queen and King sizes)

Star Bright Churning is a simple but elegant eight pointed star pattern.  The pattern itself is easy enough for the beginner yet eye catching for the seasoned quilter.  It leaves a lot of room for experimentation with color.  The pattern sews together like a dream and with a few twists and turns can be reconfigured into your own custom design.




Chain Reaction -  Phyllis Acres                                                                                    

Level: Confident Beginner - Intermediate


This quilt is created with a modern twist!  A fun way to enjoy your favorite fabrics.  Pieced blocks create the illusion of chain links and are joined by several rows of focus fabric.  The final product is a quilt that is fun and fabulous!



Star Twist - Donna Hastings                                        

 Level:   Beginner

Size: 26" Block technique

Create a 26" block using Donna's "no paper in the seams" method. It can be used as a table topper or as the center of a larger quilt.  There are no points to match!  This is a great project for a beginner or a quilter looking for a large piecing project. Pattern is supplied.




Nine Hour Class.....  Saturday & Sunday

Classic Basket Applique - Jo Ann Zenger                                                                  

 Level: Confident Beginner -  Intermediate

This is a great project to start learning hand applique skills or perfect for the ones you are already familiar with. The project can become a pillow, a single block wall hanging or the center block for something larger.  Participants will be introduced to freezer paper applique with a couple different methods for placing the elements on the backgroud.  Come join us!

Three Hour Class

Wool Applique – Phyllis Acres                                                                                                                                                   Level: Beginner

In this beginning wool applique class, participant will learn wool applique basics while creating a Winter/Christmas themed tablerunner.  The wool deisgn consists of a deer and an evergreen tree.  As is, this tablerunner is an attractive  everyday theme or you may choose to add ornaments to the tree for a Christmas theme. 

Kit, containing all of the supplies needed, will be provided for $22





STUDIO will be available to all campers Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.    Now is the time to work on those UFOs and to network and visit with fellow campers.
